I had not seen this DICEMAN video since the time it was on HBO! I first heard of “The Dice Man” gimmick via the highly entertaining Discovery Channel travel series of the same name. It is hard to tell whether this is one of Woody Allen's comedies, or one of his Match Points, but who even knows with that guy anymore. Look out, world, Andrew Dice Clay is on the comeback trail and he's aiming for you, in the front row, or perhaps you, over there in the corner. The diceman cometh: will gambling be a bad bet for your town? Fairly recently a couple of youtube videos have been making the rounds. My Take: There's promise in the premise of this book. Apparently he took this a little bit too far. I then had conversations with fellow Luther fans who mentioned The Dice Man, a 1971 book by Luke Rhinehart about a fictional character who basically lives his life on the roll of a dice. I've been meaning to read this for years, ever since reading its sequel - The Search for the Dice Man - about 12 years ago while living in Greece. These clips are a recording at the most recent GenCon of Lou Zocchi giving his infamous spiel about dice. The fact that I remembered most of it shows how wild it was back in 1989!
